Your host Mohammad Akram was born in Punjab (Pakistan) and worked as a gourmet chef in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Islamabad, Karachi, Barcelona and Munich before taking over the helm of the newly opened Sonnalpin glacier restaurant on the Zugspitze in 2007. The unusual concept of putting Asian and even Ayurvedic cuisine on the menu at a mountain restaurant alongside hearty food has made him famous beyond the Zugspitze. In addition to his work in the show kitchen on Germany's highest peak, Akram also gave cooking classes and authored a cookbook:
After his time on the Zugspitze, Akram opened a café and dining restaurant in Garmisch. Since 26.09.2020 you can enjoy his constantly changing specialties from the European, Asian and Ayurvedic cuisine in Eching as well.
From our point of view, the restaurant significantly enriches the culinary offerings of Eching and the region! Also the great ambience and interior in the newly constructed building, makes your visit a very special experience.
